At RecruitAbility we meet many candidates searching for the perfect job and many clients searching for the ideal employee. In these pages we share some of the things we’ve learned during our years in recruitment, starting with some general careers advice for job-hunters.
Whether you are starting out in your first job or seeking a new challenge you should decide on some realistic career goals that are achievable in the short-term and check your progress against them.
Write a great CV and use your social media channels to build a strong profile (see here for our advice on how to use social media to your advantage.) Search proactively on job boards, in local and national media and register with recruitment consultants.
Take advantage of any career development opportunities that come along. If you are not employed or find your current job does not offer any opportunities then consider going on courses, taking on voluntary work or seeking out work experience that will help you improve your skills. Stay positive during your search and be prepared to work hard.
If you think your current role has no room for career progression you may need to consider moving on. RecruitAbility always has excellent clients looking for quality candidates. Click here to view our current opportunities and send us your CV.
