Job Title: Yard Operative
Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term Contract (potential to become permanent)
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience) Overtime at time and a half
Hours: 40 hours per week. 7:30am - 4pm Mon - Fri. (Opportunity to earn overtime at weekends)
Location: Bishop's Stortford
 
Overview
 
A hands-on, varied role supporting the day-to-day running of a site. You'll cover relief van driving as needed, support the warehouse and yard operation, and help with general site maintenance and practical tasks. Training will be provided.
 
Key responsibilities

• Provide relief van driving support as required
• Assist with warehouse duties including picking, packing and general organisation
• Support yard work and keeping the site running smoothly day-to-day
• Help with basic maintenance and general "hands-on" tasks around the site
• Assist the wider team / support the assistant manager function as needed
• Work accurately with figures and measurements, following instructions carefully

 
Skills and experience

• Practical, hands-on approach and happy working indoors/outdoors
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail (essential)
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with a 7:30am start
• Able to follow processes and work safely and tidily
• A flexible attitude - no two days will be the same
• Must be physically fit due to the nature of the job
• Own transport is essential due to the location.
