We're looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join a growing business in Saffron Walden. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on whilst also taking responsibility for improving processes, organising workflows and helping shape the future of a warehouse operation.

This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo. We're looking for somebody who can bring ideas, identify improvements and help create an efficient, well-organised warehouse environment.

You'll oversee all day-to-day warehouse activities, including goods in, stock control, storage, inventory management and dispatch, whilst working closely with the wider business to ensure materials and products are where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising the day-to-day running of the warehouse
  • Managing all goods in and goods out activities
  • Ensuring stock is accurately checked, recorded and stored
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy and carrying out regular stock checks
  • Developing and improving warehouse systems, processes and procedures
  • Organising warehouse layouts to maximise efficiency and space utilisation
  • Using computerised systems to manage stock and warehouse records
  • Liaising with suppliers, couriers and internal departments
  • Monitoring health and safety standards throughout the warehouse
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and workflow
  • Supporting future growth plans and helping establish best practice across the operation
  • Leading by example with a hands-on approach to daily warehouse activities

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader or similar role
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, stock control and inventory management
  • Experience implementing or improving warehouse processes and procedures
  • Good IT skills and confidence using warehouse, stock management or ERP systems
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your area
  • Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator who can make suggestions and drive improvements whilst working collaboratively with colleagues
  • Counterbalance forklift licence is essential
  • Comfortable working with hight racking

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business
  • A role with autonomy and scope to introduce improvements
  • Friendly and supportive working environment
  • Long-term career development opportunities
  • Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (DOE)
  • Hours: Monday-Friday. Full Time
  • Holiday: 23 days + Bank Holidays
  • Pension
  • Free Parking
