Job Title: Regulatory Specialist (chemicals)
Location: Bishop's Stortford (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)
Salary: £45,000 per annum
The Role
We're working with a well-established business that supplies specialist ingredients into sectors including cosmetics, pharma, food and performance chemicals.
They're looking for a Regulatory Specialist to join their Quality & Compliance team, supporting the business in ensuring products meet UK and EU regulations and can be safely supplied into a range of industries.
This is a varied role that sits between technical, compliance and commercial teams, where you'll act as a key point of contact for all things regulatory.
What you'll be doing
- Ensuring products comply with relevant UK and EU regulations (including REACH and CLP)
- Reviewing and maintaining technical and regulatory documentation (e.g. Safety Data Sheets)
- Supporting new product approvals and onboarding from a compliance perspective
- Acting as a key contact for internal teams on regulatory queries
- Liaising with suppliers and customers to obtain and provide technical information
- Monitoring changes in legislation and advising the business accordingly
- Supporting quality and compliance processes, including investigations and continuous improvement
What my client are looking for
- Previous experience in a regulatory or compliance role within chemicals, ingredients, cosmetics or food
- Good understanding of UK/EU regulatory frameworks (e.g. REACH, CLP)
- Experience working with technical documentation such as SDS
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident communicator, able to explain technical information clearly
- A proactive and organised approach
A scientific background (Chemistry, Food Science, Toxicology or similar) would be beneficial.
