Project Estimator
£35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 40 hours per week
An established and growing engineering business is looking for an experienced Project Estimator to join its team.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering the chance to work on interesting technical projects across multiple sectors, both in the UK and internationally.
You'll be part of a supportive, knowledgeable team and will play a key role in turning client enquiries into accurate, commercially sound project estimates.
The Role
- Responding to new enquiries and understanding client requirements
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Preparing accurate cost estimates with input from design, planning and installation teams
- Assessing financial, delivery and H&S risks within tenders
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and contractors during the tender stage
- Attending meetings (in person and online)
- Supporting the development of estimating systems and cost libraries
- Assisting with general sales and marketing activity where needed
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' estimating experience
- Strong understanding of the estimator's role and responsibilities
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines across multiple projects
- Ability to interpret construction or electrical drawings and specifications
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- Clear and confident telephone manner
- Strong numeracy and commercial awareness
- Marketing experience beneficial but not essential
- You must have a current British passport
- Full UK driving licence
