Commercial Buyer

Salary:  £55,000

Location: Remote (with occasional office visits)

Term: Permanent

Are you a commercially minded Buyer who enjoys analysing markets, building supplier relationships and making strategic purchasing decisions?

We’re recruiting for a Commercial Buyer to join a growing organisation operating within a regulated environmental market. This is not a traditional “raise a PO” purchasing role. Instead, you’ll be managing supply in a live, often volatile market — balancing cost, compliance and commercial risk.

It’s ideal for someone who enjoys market dynamics, forecasting and negotiation, and wants a role with genuine commercial influence.

The Role

As Commercial Buyer, you will:

  • Develop and execute buying strategies across multiple material streams
  • Monitor market pricing trends, availability and volatility
  • Forecast demand based on client data and regulatory obligations
  • Manage purchasing exposure across quarterly and annual cycles
  • Negotiate pricing, volumes and contractual terms with accredited suppliers
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Conduct supplier due diligence and performance reviews
  • Produce reports on cost, coverage and risk exposure
  • Support internal compliance and audit requirements

You’ll play a key role in ensuring sufficient supply coverage while managing cost and risk in a regulated environment.

About You

You may currently be working in:

  • Procurement or buying
  • Commodities or trading
  • A commercially analytical supply chain role

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Is confident analysing data and forecasting demand
  • Understands commercial risk and market exposure
  • Has high attention to detail and strong record-keeping ability
  • Is calm and commercially focused in changing markets

Experience within a regulated or compliance-driven sector would be advantageous, but not essential.

Why This Role?

  • More strategic than transactional
  • High commercial visibility and influence
  • Exposure to market-driven decision making
  • Growing sector with evolving regulation
  • Remote / hybrid flexibility

What’s on Offer

  • Salary: £55,000 per annum
  • Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday
  • Remote working with occasional office visits
  • Holiday: 20 days (excluding bank holidays), rising to 25 days per year with service
  • Day off on your birthday
  • Perks box healthcare
