Job Title:             Office Manager

Salary:   £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience

Location:             Central London

My client, a very worthwhile charity, is looking for an enthusiastic Office Manager to be responsible for a wide range of tasks from office administration to ICT and facilities management.


The role of Office Manager:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the office including utilities, supplies, repairs and security
  • Manage all relationships with external suppliers
  • Provide basic IT systems support to staff and liaise with external IT consultants
  • Ensure Health and Safety and Security procedures and policies are maintained to the highest standards
  • Act as the central point of contact for telephone, email and postal enquiries
  • Meeting and event administration
  • Ensure that all filing, both paper and electronic, complies with data protection guidelines
  • Provide day to day administration for the office, including maintaining office supplies and equipment
  • Support the Head of Operations in recruitment processes for staff and volunteer posts
  • Co-ordinate induction processes for new staff and volunteers
  • Support the Head of Operations in maintaining records of all staff annual leave and other absences
  • Oversee the work of admin volunteers and work experience placements

Essential Experience Required for the role of Office Manager:

  • Experience in an office management role within a busy office
  • Experience in facilities management
  • Exceptional organisation, planning and administrative skills
  • Highly computer literate; confident and proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and spoken (face to face and phone) communication skills
  • Understanding of legal obligations of charities and small employers
  • Self-motivated, hands on individual with a can do attitude
  • Punctual, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work under own initiative and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexibly in a small team, building strong day-to-day relationships with colleagues
  • Able to manage a varied workload, balancing scheduled tasks with requests for assistance from the team, which may have short deadlines

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in HR
  • Experience in the voluntary sector


The Salary for the Office Manager vacancy:

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 depending upon experience


Holiday:  22 days per annum + Bank Holidays

Hours: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday
